It's Your Special Day

When summer comes it is Birthday season at our house. We have Lincoln on the 24th of August, and Holly on September 15th. We decided that since this would probably be our last summer in Columbia, we would let them both have parties. Yesterday we celebrated Holly's birthday. When Hans and I found out we were going to have a little girl. We decided that there would be no Princess loot at our house. In general we don't like light up shoes, and character clothing, so when Holly picked out Princess birthday invitations at the store...well I tried to interest her in other invitations... even the more expensive ones... It didn't work. Not even a little. Once she was set I decided to get on board. A ONE day princess extravaganza! She had a great time with her friends. Happy birthday Princess Holly Girl! At Lincoln's party we invited quite the crowd. They had fun with some water games and bean bag toss. We played a game of animal charades, and all the kids took turns. At both parties we let the kids decorate their own cakes. All in all it was a very long and Super fun 2 hours! Later we had a small family birthday party for the kids with just us! Happy 6th birthday Lincoln!

It looks like you had lots of fun and did lots of work on those b-days! I love the skirts for the little girls. So cute! BTW, heres a link to a pettiskirt I was telling you about. I think every little girl should have one of these! http://www.ehow.com/how_2267710_sew-boutique-style-pettiskirt.html

So cute! What a fun birthday party idea. I love in that picture of the princesses that one of them is crying! Too funny!

Oh come on Merilee...princesses aren't the worst thing! Violet wants a princess party in October. However, we have entered the "Barbie" era, and I don't know if I'm too thrilled about that one!
