Just around the corner from our house there is a little farm run by a retired farmer and his wife. Every year they have produce the community can come and pick. In May I took my parents and we picked Strawberries...tons of them! And after my kids ate and ate, I still had plenty to make enough freezer jam for the next year. Next up was Blackberries. We decided it would make a fun Family Home evening activity. It would have been perfect if not for the unbearable humidity. We picked quickly, sampled quickly, convinced a nice girl to take our picture and left with about 4 lbs of the biggest blackberries I have ever seen! (We had some delicious cobbler that night!)
This week I found out that Raspberries are ready. So it looks like another trip out to the Pick n Pick is in order! Here are some cute pictures of our sweaty hot Blackberry pick!

My husband is so jealous! I have to make him blackberry cobbler every year for his birthday. He loves blackberries!
I remember you guys went to the Pick N Pick while we were driving to the airport to head out :(. So sad! There was a lot of reminiscing of that trip on our recent trip to Cali. A few of the memories...
--"Deep and Wide, Deep and Wide"
--Lincoln's "Come on" whenever Uncle Scott wouldn't let him do whatever he wanted to do.
--Lincoln eating a whole snickers bar in 2 seconds.
Next time I want a memory from the Pick N Pick!
nice hair hans! and those kids are so dang cute!!!!
You weren't kidding! Those blackberries are HUGH! ("YOU-J" as mom would say) What a fun outing!
You guys are really the cutest little family I have ever seen!! I wish I had the homemaking, cooking, crafting skills that you have, Merilee!!
I did raspberry picking in Oak Glen once with Kelly and my mom. Emma was a baby and that was the last time! It was so hot I haven't braved it again. You have the determination and spirit of Kelly because she goes up there all the time for picking. Good for you Merilee! I don't have what it takes. (Hopefully we'll survive our energy bill this summer...I've never been big and pregnant in summer before)
I love seeing pictures of you, too! I guess the nice thing about picking out there is you don't have to worry about a rattlesnake diving at you out of the bushes!
by the way my sisters told me i was being so mean making fun of hans' hair... i was being dead serious, i like it!
