On the fourth of July, Hans and I packed up the kids and went to a tiny little park in the middle of downtown Columbia. The city was holding a free carnival for community families. Everything was free (which was so awesome); Lincoln and Holly played in the bounce house, got faces painted, ate cotton candy, hot dogs, and various beverages. But the last thing we did was stand in line for at least an hour watching Casey the balloon guy. We've all seen good balloon artists, but this guy was incredible. We watched as he made aliens, crocodiles (with all the teeth), Dragons with wings, a motorcycle on top of a hat, an octopus, a fitted football helmet, and much more. Our kids deliberated in line for some time before coming up with what they wanted. Casey the balloon guy heard us talking in line about a sword for Lincoln and he encouraged us to get one, so we did, and Lincoln was not disappointed. He not only made the sword, but a fitted sword belt to hold it in. Holly was next and she asked for a lady bug. We all thought it was so cute, and she was so excited when he bent down and put it around her wrist like a coursage. Here are a couple pictures of Lincoln and Holly that posted in one of the local papers. Thanks Casey!!!
