Ahhh The Juki Garnet, She's a Gem!

The kids are in bed. Everyone is asleep and it is so so quiet. I get myself a nice cold glass of water, I head downstairs and begin a sewing project. I tell myself it's a way to relax, and do something for me (even though 99% of my projects are for the kids). Well it all worked, and worked well. I have a hand me down serger from my mom that I won when she pulled my name out of my Dad's hat. It has been so nice to have a serger, and I have a basic sewing machine my parents gave me for my birthday like 5 or 6 years ago. All have been wonderful to have. I have sewn Halloween costumes, quilts, dresses, Christmas pajamas, diaper bags, curtains, and more all with these two wonderful machines. But the Meyer sweatshop has come to a stand still. About a month ago I started having trouble with my serger; one of the threads kept breaking. After much pseudo swearing, and many a phone call to my mom (my personal sewing machine doctor) I have still yet to get her back on line. So sad, so so sad. I have resigned myself to sewing with only my simple basic machine. I decided to make Lincoln and Holly a couple small bags for overnight trips. I started the first, and tragedy struck... again! My thread keeps breaking, my zig zag stitch isn't working, my tension will not loosen no matter how I turn the knob...

I am sorry to tell you all "project christmas present kitchen apron" has been aborted, and Project, "Sweet talk Hans into a new Serger for Christmas" has begun. Wish me luck.

UPDATE: Hans is leaving town this week for a conference. He will be gone for my birthday so he and the kids threw me an early birthday party last night..and guess what? Yep! Thanks to Hans LaWanna, Agnes, And Susanna, project Christmas present Kitchen apron is back on! The juki Garnet is all mine. Can you guess who may be the first to receive an apron? Thanks you guys. --- now don't be alarmed if I stop blogging for awhile... I'll be sewing!

Oh MJ! I have tears for you. Oh the tears! I'm so sorry about your machine. Good luck in the "I need it to function" persuasion. It worked for me. Maybe it will for you too.

Good luck Merilee. It will all work out. Keep the prayer alive and the complaints loud. Before you know it Hans will be happy to get you a new serger.

Hey, I would have bought her one weeks ago if I could have. She does deserve one, and then I wouldn't have to duck every time something goes wrong and she hucks somethign across the room!
